The bike
The story begins with a bike, if you haven’t got your one yet, better read this before you start off to your nearest supermarket to look at some. Buy your bike at a specialized shop, consult them and ask to help choose among their variety. Cannondale CAAD12 105 with its aluminum frame will be a good choice for the beginner; lightweight bike will make your start pleasurable and relevantly easy.
The helmet
Your safety should be your first priority and here what is recommended is Specialized Propero, a less expensive, but not les protective helmet with perfect style, comfort and crash protection.
The shoes
Your shoes obviously must be comfortable with heel support, with grippy surface for pedaling, with anatomic arc for your comfort during long-time riding. Shimano RP2 offers you the coziness and endurance, minimalism and healthiness.
The pedals
With Shimano R550 SPD-SL resin pedal, you will get the comfort for long-time rides, good clutch between your shoes and the pedal, protection for your feet and amazingly low price. You can try to find the pedals on the Internet for less than $100. Pedals are as important as your shoes because their stoutness is your confidence in riding anywhere.
The lights
You must be visible for others, especially at night, thought the laws for turning on lights during the day are not issued at the moment still you choice would rather be for Knog Pop Duo lights. USB-rechargeable, durable, bright and user-friendly lights will help you stay on the safe side. Invest into your safety at first.
The clothes
Choose a nice jersey and shorts that will fit you, what is worth buying is Gore Bike Wear Element Tights Short+ and Rapha Core Jersey. Of course shorts are more important if to choose between the two of them, the shorts protect your back from static repetition and add to the ventilation when you ride your road bike. The jersey is an optional thing, you needn’t rush to the shop to buy the jersey if your budget is limited any spot top will be ok for your beginning, if it lets your body breathe. But if you are ready to spend some hundred dollars more, then Rapha Core Jersey is for you.
The mitts
Specialized Body Geometry Gel Gloves is not a must but a good bonus to protect your hands from tiredness, extra pressure and scratches.
Of course you can ride, with or without this stuff, but let your rides be enjoyable at any rate!
