The term multitasking is widely used in the modern world. Employees often have to work on several tasks at the same time and it is necessary to fulfill these tasks perfectly. Multitasking is a term that is used when a person has to do more than one task, for example, write down important information and talk with somebody on the phone or send important emails and write a to-do list. Such kind of activity as multitasking has its advantages and disadvantages.

Multitasking doesn’t allow employees to be bored because they have to do a lot of things at the same time and simply don’t have time for anything else. It helps to become more skilled and responsible. Multitasking saves time and money and it is really so. There are tasks that can be done simultaneously so there is no need to waste time on fulfilling some tasks one by one. More than that, multitasking is perfect if an employer wants to save their money. It is possible to hire fewer employees that will fulfill more tasks and save the company’s budget in such a way.

Disadvantages of multitasking

There are a lot of distractions around that can lead to loss of attention so a person can’t concentrate on important tasks. Such interruptions as the ringing phone, for example, can make it difficult to return to work. There are employees that do a lot but can’t finish anything. More than that, it is more difficult to switch between two tasks and it takes a lot of time. Human brain needs some time to change different activities.
