The term application is a shorter form of application program. An application program is a program designed to perform specific function directly for the user. Applications use the services of the computers operating system and other supporting applications.
Some of people have a question in their head - what is the difference between a game and an application? To some people an answer is clear, if you use your cell phone to play some casual games here is the difference between an application and a game. A lot of gamers don’t even consider mobile games a part of a real gaming world. The difference between a game and an application is the a game is always for fun or some educational aims. Applications can be about anything. Applications are not always about entertainment or for education of people. Applications can be about sport, information, short cuts and so on. For example, if you wish to switch on the light with the help of your phone you will be using an application. And if you wish to relax and to sink in the world of virtual reality, then you will be playing a game.
